宮沢賢治記念館へ　To Kenji Miyazawa Memorial Museum

 

盛岡でホテルにチェックインして部屋に荷物を置いてから、再び新幹線に乗り、花巻の地に向かった。

盛岡から電車で花巻に向かう途中、窓のその外の田園風景を眺めていた。

雲の位置が低く、手を伸ばせば届きそうだった。

After checking into a hotel in Morioka and leaving my luggage in the room, I boarded the Shinkansen again and headed to Hanamaki.

On my way to Hanamaki by train from Morioka, I was looking out the window at the countryside.

The clouds were so low that I could reach them if I stretched out my hand.





花巻は温泉でも知られているが、宮沢賢治の故郷でもある。

新花巻駅から、タクシーで宮沢賢治記念館へ向かった。

記念館は森に囲まれた小高い丘の上にあり、タクシーを降りてから記念館の入り口まで、ちょっとした散歩を楽しむことができる。

Hanamaki is known for its hot springs, and is also the hometown of Kenji Miyazawa.

From Shin-Hanamaki Station, I took a taxi to the Kenji Miyazawa Memorial Museum.

The museum is located on a small hill surrounded by forest, and you can enjoy a short walk from the time you get off the taxi to the entrance of the museum.




2023年は、日本の各地、特に東北地方で熊に襲われる被害が多かった。

この辺りにも、熊が出没しているらしい。

命を落とす危険のあり注意しなければならないのだろうが、宮沢賢治記念館という場所でこの立て札を見ると、宮沢賢治の童話の中の世界を想像してしまう。

In 2023, there were many attacks by bears in various parts of Japan, especially in the Tohoku region.

Apparently there are bears in this area as well.

There is a risk of losing your life, so you must be careful, but when I see this sign at the Kenji Miyazawa Memorial Museum, I can't help but imagine the world out of Kenji Miyazawa's fairy tales.




宮沢賢治は、明治29年にこの花巻の地で生を受け、昭和3年に同じくこの地でその生を返した。

宮沢賢治が、童話や詩を書き、農学校の教師をしたりしたのは、ほぼ大正時代にあたる。

このあまりにもスケールの大きな人物のことを、大正という時代をそのまま体現した人物のようにこれまで考えてきた。

Kenji Miyazawa was born here in Hanamaki in 1898, and returned to his life in 1938.

Kenji Miyazawa wrote children's stories and poems, and taught at an agricultural school during the Taisho era.

Up until now, I have thought of this extremely large-scale figure as someone who embodies the Taisho era.




そんなことを考えながら、しばらく歩いていると、この世界で最も訪れたかった場所の一つに、ようやくたどり着いた。

After walking for a while thinking about this, I finally arrived at one of the places I wanted to visit the most in this world.

青森に着いた翌日、バスでその日の宿となる八甲田ホテルへ向かった。 青森駅商工会議所前から、無料の送迎バスが出ていて。およそ70分ほどかけて、八甲田さんの山道を通りながら、ホテルに到着した。 チェックインを済ませてから、まずは、ホテルの隣にある、酸ヶ湯温泉へ向かった。 巨大なヒバ千人風呂で知られる温泉だが、宿初施設もお食事処、みやげもの屋などもある、巨大なレジャー施設だ。 混浴の千人風呂の他にも、男女ごとに分かれた玉の湯があり、そちらに入った。 こちらはとても小さな湯どので、何人かがすでに入っていたが、誰も一言も喋ることもなく、まるで修行のように、ひたすら温泉に浸かっていた。 酸ヶ湯温泉の泉質は酸性硫黄泉で、白濁しており、湯に入ると体にピリピリとした感触があり、いかにも効用のある温泉といった感覚だった。 青森出身の彫刻家、棟方志功もこの温泉が好きでよく訪れてい他という。 棟方志功が、雄大な八甲田さんを、独特のタッチで描いた美しい”倭画”も展示されていた。 The day after arriving in Aomori, I took a bus to my lodgings at the Hakkoda Hotel. A free shuttle bus departs from in front of the Aomori Station Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It took about 70 minutes to reach the hotel, passing through the Hakkoda mountain paths. ホテルJALシティ青森　Hotel JAL City Aomori

青森での１泊目は、ホテルJALシティ青森に滞在した。 ねぶた祭りが行われる八甲通り沿いにあり、その時期にはかなり前から予約でいっぱいになるホテルだという。 For my first night in Aomori, I stayed at Hotel JAL City Aomori. The hotel is located along Hakko Street, where the Nebuta Festival is held, and apparently it gets fully booked well in advance during that time. 部屋からは、海の方が見渡せた。 右側に見える三角の施設は、アスパムという青森物産館で、青森の特産品の売店や飲食店が入っており、イベントなどもよく開催されるのだという。 残念ながら、今回は訪れることができなかった。 From my room, I could see the ocean. The triangular facility you can see on the right is Aspam, the Aomori Products Center, which houses shops selling Aomori specialties and restaurants, and where events are often held. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to visit this time. 朝食は、ブッフェ。 盛岡のアートホテルでもそうだったが、このホテルJALシティ青森でも、地元の食材を使った郷土料理の、美味しいブッフェを味わうことができた。 カレーも、今ではどのホテルでも定番になっているメニューの一つ。 この日は、青森産りんごを使った、甘辛い豚肉のカレーが用意されていた。 Breakfast was a buffet. UGUISUで青森のお酒と料理を堪能　Enjoy Aomori cuisine and alcohol at UGUISU

  青森、初日の夜は、JR青森駅から伸びる新町通り沿いにある、UGUISUというお店で、青森のお酒と料理を堪能した。 田酒、八仙など、東京でもよく知られるお酒の他にも、青森には多くの銘酒がある。 しかし、この旅行を終えてから酒店に行って気がついたのだが、東京の酒店では、青森の日本酒をあまり置いていないように感じた。 このお店では、六種飲み比べのメニューがあったので、いろいろな青森の日本酒を楽しむことができた。 料理は、お造り盛り合わせ、青森県産ホタテの貝焼き味噌、金木産霜降り馬刺し、青森県産桜姫鶏の塩唐揚げ、おばんざい 盛り合わせ、など。 豊かな青森の食文化を、美味しい日本酒と共に、思う存分、味わうことができた夜だった。 On the first night in Aomori, I enjoyed Aomori sake and food at a restaurant called UGUISU along Shinmachi Street, which stretches from JR Aomori Station. In addition to sake well known in Tokyo such as Denshu and Hassen, Aomori has many other fine sakes. However, when I went to a liquor store after the trip, I noticed that liquor stores in Tokyo don't carry many Aomori sakes.
