九戸政実について　Kunohe Masazane

 



十和田湖美術館へは、東北新幹線の七戸十和田駅から、バスで30分ほどだった。

この辺りには、八戸など、数字のついた地名が多い。

青森県のホームページによれば、”戸”とは地区や地域といった意味で、諸説はあるものの、大和朝廷がこの地に置いた柵戸が、その起源ではないか、とのこと。

駅においてあったパンフレットで、九戸政実の乱のことを知った。

Towadako Art Museum is about a 30-minute bus ride from Shichinohe-Towada Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen.

There are many place names in this area with numbers, such as Hachinohe.

According to the Aomori Prefecture website, "to" means district or area, and although there are various theories, it is believed to have originated from the Sakado that the Yamato court established in this area.

I learned about the Kunohe Masazane Rebellion from a pamphlet at the station.





後に盛岡城の城主となる南部氏は、甲斐源氏の流れを汲む家で、鎌倉幕府の奥州征伐の後、この辺りの土地を与えられた。

その南部氏の一族は、七戸や八戸に暮らし、七戸氏や八戸氏など、その地の名前を名乗った。

戦国時代、その南部氏の後継者争いが起こり、九戸政実は南部本家の南部信直に最後まで意を唱え続けた。七戸氏も、その九戸政実側に加担した。

南部信直は、自分の力だけでは九戸政実らの抵抗を抑えきれず、豊臣秀吉に支援を依頼。

豊臣秀吉は、徳川家康、上杉景勝、前田利家、石田三成らに、伊達政宗や最上義光などの東北地方の武将も含めた3万人の大群を率いて、いわゆる奥州最仕置を行った。

いかに九戸政実が巧妙に抵抗しても、豊臣の大群には叶うまでもない。最後は、九戸城を包囲されて、一族の助命を条件に降伏した。

しかし、その約束は保護にされ、一族は二の丸に押し込められ惨殺され、火をかけられた。九戸政実は、捉えられて、別の地で処刑された。

The Nanbu clan, who were the lords of Morioka Castle, were descended from the Kai Genji clan, and were given the land around here after the Kamakura Shogunate's conquest of Oshu.

The Nanbu clan lived in Shichinohe and Hachinohe, and took the names of the places they lived in, such as Shichinohe and Hachinohe.

During the Sengoku period, a battle for the succession of the Nanbu clan broke out, and Kunohe Masazane continued to support Nanbu Nobunao of the main Nanbu family until the very end.

Unable to suppress the resistance of Kunohe Masazane and others with his own strength, Nanbu Nobunao asked Toyotomi Hideyoshi for support.

Toyotomi Hideyoshi led a 30,000-man army that included Tokugawa Ieyasu, Uesugi Kagekatsu, Maeda Toshiie, Ishida Mitsunari, and other warlords from the Tohoku region such as Date Masamune and Mogami Yoshimitsu, in what is known as the Oshu Saisei.

No matter how cleverly Kunohe Masazane resisted, he was no match for Toyotomi's horde. In the end, Kunohe Castle was surrounded and he surrendered on the condition that his family's lives be spared.

However, the promise was not respected, and the family was forced into the Ninomaru, brutally murdered, and set on fire. Kunohe Masazane was captured and executed elsewhere.





寡聞にも、九戸政実のことは、それまで知らなかった。

しかし、その生き様を知り、とても興味を惹かれた。

これまでにも、高橋克彦や安倍龍太郎などが、九戸政実のことを小説に書いているという。

To my limited knowledge, I had never heard of Kunohe Masazane before.

But when I learned about his way of life, I was fascinated.

It seems that writers such as Takahashi Katsuhiko and Abe Ryutaro have written novels about Kunohe Masazane in the past.

青森に着いた翌日、バスでその日の宿となる八甲田ホテルへ向かった。 青森駅商工会議所前から、無料の送迎バスが出ていて。およそ70分ほどかけて、八甲田さんの山道を通りながら、ホテルに到着した。 チェックインを済ませてから、まずは、ホテルの隣にある、酸ヶ湯温泉へ向かった。 巨大なヒバ千人風呂で知られる温泉だが、宿初施設もお食事処、みやげもの屋などもある、巨大なレジャー施設だ。 混浴の千人風呂の他にも、男女ごとに分かれた玉の湯があり、そちらに入った。 こちらはとても小さな湯どので、何人かがすでに入っていたが、誰も一言も喋ることもなく、まるで修行のように、ひたすら温泉に浸かっていた。 酸ヶ湯温泉の泉質は酸性硫黄泉で、白濁しており、湯に入ると体にピリピリとした感触があり、いかにも効用のある温泉といった感覚だった。 青森出身の彫刻家、棟方志功もこの温泉が好きでよく訪れてい他という。 棟方志功が、雄大な八甲田さんを、独特のタッチで描いた美しい”倭画”も展示されていた。 The day after arriving in Aomori, I took a bus to my lodgings at the Hakkoda Hotel. ホテルJALシティ青森　Hotel JAL City Aomori

青森での１泊目は、ホテルJALシティ青森に滞在した。 ねぶた祭りが行われる八甲通り沿いにあり、その時期にはかなり前から予約でいっぱいになるホテルだという。 For my first night in Aomori, I stayed at Hotel JAL City Aomori. The hotel is located along Hakko Street, where the Nebuta Festival is held, and apparently it gets fully booked well in advance during that time. 部屋からは、海の方が見渡せた。 右側に見える三角の施設は、アスパムという青森物産館で、青森の特産品の売店や飲食店が入っており、イベントなどもよく開催されるのだという。 残念ながら、今回は訪れることができなかった。 From my room, I could see the ocean. The triangular facility you can see on the right is Aspam, the Aomori Products Center, which houses shops selling Aomori specialties and restaurants, and where events are often held. UGUISUで青森のお酒と料理を堪能　Enjoy Aomori cuisine and alcohol at UGUISU

  青森、初日の夜は、JR青森駅から伸びる新町通り沿いにある、UGUISUというお店で、青森のお酒と料理を堪能した。 田酒、八仙など、東京でもよく知られるお酒の他にも、青森には多くの銘酒がある。 しかし、この旅行を終えてから酒店に行って気がついたのだが、東京の酒店では、青森の日本酒をあまり置いていないように感じた。 このお店では、六種飲み比べのメニューがあったので、いろいろな青森の日本酒を楽しむことができた。 料理は、お造り盛り合わせ、青森県産ホタテの貝焼き味噌、金木産霜降り馬刺し、青森県産桜姫鶏の塩唐揚げ、おばんざい 盛り合わせ、など。 豊かな青森の食文化を、美味しい日本酒と共に、思う存分、味わうことができた夜だった。 On the first night in Aomori, I enjoyed Aomori sake and food at a restaurant called UGUISU along Shinmachi Street, which stretches from JR Aomori Station.
